Biographie

Often cited in the international press as one of the Top ten portrait photographers in the world, Réhanh's unique combination of Fine Art and Documentary styles has been featured in international media totaling more than 50 television appearances and 600 articles (most notably in Condé Nast Traveler, The New York Times, National Geographic, and BBC among others.)
The Frenche photographer is known for constatly reinventing himself, from "capturing the souls" of his subjects in his portrait work to bending light and shadow to create potographs that appear to be paintings. Yet, certain themes remain, such as the artist's fondness for vibrant imagery, nature, and historical context.
Réhahn's early projects, Hidden Smile, and Ageless Beauty, resulted in most celebrated images, including his iconic portrait of French President Macron in celebratiion of 45 years of friendship between the cuontries (2018). The final copy of the Limited Edition series became the most expensive photo ever sold in Asia in 2019.
The artist's pinnacle Precious Heritage project began as a mission to document the craftsmanship of all 54+ ethnic groups in Vietnam and culminated in the opening of the free to the public Precious Heritage Museum and Art Gallery.
Inspired by the artistic philosophies of the Impressionists and Post-Impressiionists, Réhanhn's bestselling "Memories of Impressionism" series merges the fields of Fine Art painting and photography into a new medium - Impressionist Photography.
To date, Réhan has published four Fine Art photography volumes. Other recent projects include collaborations with well-known brands such as Louis Vuitton, Johnnie Walker and Elie Bleu. Visit Réhanhn Galleries in Hoi An Ho Chi Minh to see more his artworks.
The Oxford Dictionaries definition for the word Ageless is: "never looking old or appearing to grow old." Modern society, in most parts of the world, takes this concept to the extreme, trying to remain young above all else. As a result, our ideas ofwhat is beautiful are often intrinsically linked to youth. In the eyes of many, the elderly lose value as they age; even though, they are often the ones who preserve the heritage of their families and their cultures.
Réhahn's Ageless Beauty Project focuses on the oldest membrers of the communities he's visited throughout Vietnam. The images represent the history of this remarkable country, yet they are universal. Each portrait celebrates the marks of age - marks that were earned over the course of a lifetime of experiences. They rethink the standards of beauty worldwide; posing the questions: How should we regard people as they age? How can we shift our values and look with new eyes at humanity?

To me, ageless beauty means beauty that is timeless. Rather than constantly striving to appear youg, there is meaning in celebrating humankind in all its forms, ages and stages. In my opinion, the only thing that remains beautiful is something that can touch that remains beautiful is something that can touch one’s heart.
